Continuity Editing

  1. Continuity Editing is where you use a camera to create smooth shot, which is used to appear as though its happening in real time movement
  2. 180 Degree rule - This rule means the camera must stay on one side of the action and objects in the scene, There is a invisible line which shows where the camera goes along.
This shows exactly where the camera is pointing.
This is used so that the audience is not confused with the position of the characters. It also ensures that the shots are not inconsistent and that flow smoothly

Eye line match - it is done by one shot shows the character looking at something the camera cannot see and the other shot shows what the character is looking at.
Cross cutting - This is where the camera will cut away from one action to another action, This shows that the scene are happening at the same time.
