In our second session of filming for our first key scene. We have decided to use a knife for our props to really add more of a fear factor and to get the audience to ask questions such as what is she going to do with it. As you can see we have got hold of a knife that is rusty and dirty to show that it has been used before so is more threatening. We have also added some blood and bruising to the wife's face to show she has been hurt and i really think this works well as the audience are more engaged with the scene. Key scene 1

Print products

After looking at previous print products. I have identified some of the conventions of hit man film posters.
  • There must be a focal image that draws the audiences attention.
  • the title is in a large eye catching font
  • you can see what genre it is by just looking at it
  • there is a day that the film is going to be released
  • information of the directors and film company at the bottom of the poster
As you can see from the film posters above they are all very similar in the way they look. They all seem to follow the conventions of a hit-man film. They all have some sort of weapon in the picture weather it is a gun of a bon and arrow. the mise-en-scene for these posters seems to be dark clothing to give the mystery for the film. Not only this but in all of the images the facial expressions are straight and have no emotion on them. there always only ever seems to be one person in the image and if there is two like in the film poster the wanted one of them is more involved in the picture then the other. The background of these images is very dark to reinforce the mystery behind the film. After looking at these films posters i will follow the conventions that are shown and also make sure that i have a clear centre image with a weapon in and for the main character to have a straight face.

Shot still needed

These are a list of shots that we still need. After working on editing our shots from the last time we have decided that some of the clips don't have continuity in them and so are jumping from clip to clip. So that when you watch the clip it doesn't really make sense. During our next filming we will add these onto our clips and it will hopefully have more continuity.

This is evidence of us being organised and meeting up to do some filming for our key scene's.

Development

After getting together and talking about our genre, we have decided that because crime thriller is such a broad genre that we would focus more on the specific hitman and assassination  films as we feel this links to our trailer more. Will we watch film such as Hanna, Leon, Kill Bill, Nikita, wanted and in Bruges is just a few of the examples of the films we will research.

After watching these trailers it has given me some more ideas to include in our filming that are more focused on the hitman films. For example in the film trailer hanna they have created a suspense atmosphere though out the clip by using slow music to start off with and gradually increasing it along with increasing the cuts within the film. there is a lot of speaking in this trailer for an action/ crime thriller. this works very well as it creates more of a story for the audience and by the end of the trailer you are asking yourself questions such as why is the girl trying to kill the women and why are they trying to track the daughter and father down. I think i will use this element in my trailer as i think it works well.

Film production logo

We designed the logo off a website called 'logo garden' we typed in insignia into the search engine and this was one of the options that came up. We all agreed that the star in the middle and the crest along the outside works well ad the definition of insignia means powerful which represents our production company as being in control and having authority.

these are the production logo ideas that i have designed. I have carried out a survey of my results when asking my target audience which design there prefer and have presented my findings in a graph.
